Meet Ed!

Magician, Educator, Motivational Speaker, Coffee Enthusiast

He makes you believe in magic and lights up a room with his talents and charm.

So where did this all begin? The Ocean City Boardwalk, circa 1994. At ten years of age, Ed (affectionately known as Eddie by his family and friends) witnessed a magician performing, and was mesmerized. He begged the local magic shop owner for a job, and while his age may have deterred him from becoming an employee, just three years later he was performing his own magic shows for the company and growing what is today "Magic by Ed Entertainment Company, LLC."

During his teen years, he stayed busy performing at schools, churches, house parties, and more, and went to college for Elementary Education, hoping to bring a little bit of excitement into the classroom. Towards the end of his time at St. Joe's, he was performing on average 200 shows every year. Upon graduation, he poured his talents into creating Mantua’s current STEM program, which is where he has been teaching for 15 years. His work integrating STEM principles, magic, and technology earned him the title of Mantua’s Teacher of the Year in 2016, as well as acceptance into The University of Pennsylvania’s Masters of Education Entrepreneurship Program in 2018. During that program, he focused his attention on studying and researching student engagement and motivation and is excited to use this knowledge to continue innovating in his district and beyond. He also dabbles as an inspirational speaker, using his research and charisma to deliver keynotes up and down the east coast on the science of joy (while bringing a magical twist for his audience).

When he’s not in his classroom, he’s an adoring father of two rambunctious boys, a faithful coffee drinker, and a full time entrepreneur. He believes that magic can truly make a difference in this world. "Especially when things feel like they are against you... there's something about magic that demonstrates anything is possible."
